How to Write a Query in SQL Guru

How to Write a Query in SQL Guru

Writing a query in SQL Guru is a fantastic experience. Unlike writing a query in your BI Publisher, which involves creating a data model, writing SQL in a confined text box, and following a hectic 7-8 step process, SQL Guru allows you to write a query with just a single click. Follow the steps below to write and execute queries effortlessly in SQL Guru.

Guide to Writing a Query in SQL Guru

1. Navigate to the SQL Query Module

First, open SQL Guru and navigate to the SQL Query module. This is the section where you will write and manage your queries.

2. Writing Your Query
Once you are in the SQL Query module, you will see an interface where you can start typing your query. SQL Guru's IntelliSense support will assist you by suggesting auto-completions as you type, making it easier to write accurate and efficient queries.

3. Formatting Your Query
After you have written your query, you can format it for better readability. Click the Formatter to automatically format your SQL code.

4. Running Your Query
To execute your query, click the Run. SQL Guru will process your query and display the requested data from your Oracle cloud environment under the Result section.

5. Applying Filters
If you need to view specific data, you can apply filters to your query results. This will help you narrow down the data to what you need precisely.

6. Exporting Data
Once you have the desired data, you can export it in CSV or XLSX formats. Click the Export and choose your preferred format to download the data.

7. Writing Multiple Queries
SQL Guru allows you to write and manage multiple queries within the SQL Query module. To write a new query, click the + symbol at the top of the page. This will open a new query tab where you can start writing your next query.

8. Accessing Query History
On the bottom left corner of the SQL Query module, you will find the History icon. This shows you the queries you have written in the last three days. By clicking on any query in the history, you can easily retrieve and run it again.
